G+_Bernard Bout
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Just watched your segment on the NSS about upgrading the Surface Studio SSD. Looking at the bench marks made me want to download and test my SSD. I downloaded the latest same Crystal Benchmarks V 5.2.0 x64 and ran it against my Samsung 500gb EVO850 ssd. I am puzzled by the results. My one year old SSD simply smashed the drives you installed by so much that I am wondering what exactly these results actually mean. As a reference I took a screen capture of my ssd vs your test results as below. For instance your Seq. Read gives 539.1 MB/s whereas mine gives 2877!!!! That's > 4 times faster. All I have is a plain old 850 evo running off a PCIe to Sata card - you know the PCIe interface where the WiFi card of a laptop is usually connected to? I fortunately have 2 ports there so I kept the WiFi but added this card: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Syba-Mini-PCI-Express-2-0-2-Port-SATA6G-Card-non-RAID-ASM1061-Chipset-6-0Gbps-/111532929709?hash=item19f7e172ad:g:SXgAAOSwLVZV3WGW and connected the SSD to this. Any explanations about this vast difference?
