Just watched your segment on the NSS about upgrading the Surface Studio SSD. Looking at the bench marks made me want to download and test my SSD. I downloaded the latest same Crystal Benchmarks V 5.2.0 x64 and ran it against my Samsung 500gb EVO850 ssd.

 

I am puzzled by the results. My one year old SSD simply smashed the drives you installed by so much that I am wondering what exactly these results actually mean. As a reference I took a screen capture of my ssd vs your test results as below.

 

For instance your Seq. Read gives 539.1 MB/s whereas mine gives 2877!!!!

That's > 4 times faster. All I have is a plain old 850 evo running off a PCIe to Sata card - you know the PCIe interface where the WiFi card of a laptop is usually connected to? I fortunately have 2 ports there so I kept the WiFi but added this card:
