G+_Jason Hammond
Hello fellow KITAs. I just got the Google Pixel 2 XL about a month ago, and I must say I am loving this phone. I am now thinking about getting a smart watch to go with it. There are so many options for Android wear out there, I am not sure what to look for. I am not so much interested in fitness tracking, but more looking for the notifications features. Any suggestions on a decent, but affordable smart watch to go with my Pixel 2? Thanks in advance. G+_Ben Reese
If you're not stuck on using Android Wear, you'd probably be happiest with the one Padre was showing off (I don't remember the name of it). My Fossil watch looks real nice and has some interesting apps and watch faces, but I kinda miss my Pebble. I have the 2nd Gen Fossil Q Marshal. The mic worked maybe once (I need to call Fossil for a replacement) and the battery lasts about 18~20 hours. I think I'd prefer something that lasts longer on battery even if it doesn't have as many features.
G+_Jason Perry
The one Padre was showing off really caught my attention too, particularly the months of battery life.
G+_Paul Hutchinson
The one Padre was reviewing is: hey3s.com - Hey 3S Multisport GPS Smart Watch
G+_Jason Hammond
Jason Perry and Paul Hutchinson. Thank you for the sugestions, however the Hey 3S seems to be more of a fitbit type watch. I am really not interested in the fitness tracking ( I do realize most wearable tech has that biult in) but i am looking for more of a wearable extention of my phone (if that make sense). G+_Jason Hammond
Update: After some research, I purchased a Fossil Q Venture smart watch, and have been using it for a week and some change. I really like this watch so far. Battery lasts me all day, and I am able to customize the watch face (currently have a star wars background on it...lol). I receive phone call notifications and text messages. I can even respond to a text using my voice right from the watch.I receive my email notifications, and can delete an email right from the watch. For 255.00, I think it was good investment for what I was looking for.
