G+_Kellen Razzano
When you start working with a bunch of .STL files on your desktop you'll quickly learn that there isn't an easy, native way to view what the actual 3D object within the file looks like. To handle this I use a free lightweight program binary called STLView by ModuleWorks: http://www.freestlview.com ...associate .STL files to open with STLVIew and now when you double-click the file it'll pop open in a drag'able 3D viewing environment. I've tried several open-source viewers and this one stands out as the best; partly due to the fact that there's no installation and it's so lightweight that new instances launch almost immediately. Likewise, there are several options for Android as well -- but of those I have found Graphite to be the best: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rootzero.graphite&hl=en
G+_Charles Kelly
Windows 10 includes the native app 3D Builder. It will view stl files and allow you to do some simple editing. It is available for free from Microsoft in the Microsoft Store if you don't already have it.
