One thing from the keynote was the fact that they did a search on stage for Breaking Bad, but when they looked at the results, the only option that came up was from the Play store... even though Breaking Bad episodes are absolutely on Netflix Instant Streaming. I wondered if maybe it was a fluke... maybe they weren't logged into a valid Netflix account when they ran a search (but that would have been a strange detail to miss, considering the power of a universal search option on something like this.) Anyways, I set up my Netflix account and did the same search and still... not surfacing Netflix content from the Android TV search. I hope this changes. I wonder why it's not working, cause Netflix definitely did work to make their interface Android TV-friendly. It's actually very nice. But universal search is what its all about with Android TV. Oh, and I bet there are a few folks working on some fancy Android TV controller apps cause its sorely needed. The current one, as I was told, isn't necessarily beautiful by any stretch... merely meant to give developers the control that they NEED, not necessarily to give "consumers" the control in a way that's appealing. Hope to see something soon. Haven't played any games yet but I certainly will.
G+_Jonathan Edwards
Is it possible that functionality will be dependent on app indexing?
G+_Blake DeVoss
Netflix most likely hasn't allowed hooks or developed into their video library. Most likely Netflix's fault.
