G+_Daniel J Brieck Jr
Is it just me noticing or has support for the Chromecast been kind of flat since launch?
G+_Eng. Jorge Santana
Flat is an understatement for all the talk of it being open...
G+_Dale Dubnyk
The SDK isn't public yet. I think thats partly why. Once they actually release it, it'll take off. Google has been working on it making it more stable with all the updates. But i agree, it has been very flat and hasn't made much progress, yet. G+_Daniel J Brieck Jr
Oh ya I forgot about that, wonder what they are waiting for XMAS?
G+_Eng. Jorge Santana
Also a week after it launch you could not buy it, without a bigger user base there won't be much development.
G+_Brandon Rush
Is Hulu Plus still a nightmare? I used the free trial a few years ago and was severly dissapointed that it still had ads and then some shows were still only available online. G+_Daniel J Brieck Jr
Brandon Rush Yes it is! Even worse, IMO. Now with more advertisements, 3 of them in a row. Also still terrible ads, additionally those same terrible ads just repeat themselves pretty much on queue thorough out the show in the same triplet. And if you are using a console or mobile version of Hulu, you still get the slap in the face of not being able to view a select group of web-only content. Guess this is one plus with having a Chromecast , you can just cast a Chrome tab with the Hulu web-only content, but still even that is not going to be as enjoyable experience as a native cast app. Overall Hulu is still pretty disappointing, but it does have a better price than cable, and if there are show you want to watch on it, it is still less evil than cable, but probably not much longer. G+_Brandon Rush
Yup. That sounds like my experience, they really need to choose between subscriptions and advertising. Otherwise I'll just stick with Netflix. The only issue with the chrome tab option is that I have a desktop with wired internet so it won't work. And my laptop is a Macbook Air which the chrome tab is a processor hog, and I try to avoid using the laptop that hard in the (probably delusional) hopes that it will last longer. G+_Daniel J Brieck Jr
Brandon Rush casting a tab from a wired desktop should work, it just will not be fun to have to run to the desktop when something comes up! You could do something insane and VNC from the MacBook to the DEsktop thats casting a tab. Flash is what is killing the MacBook Air, VNC might work better. But ya in this case Hulu Plus should be called Hoops Plus because of all the hoops that need to be jumped through to get it to work.
