G+_Matthew Bowe
What do you suggest I do to keep my Chromecast from stuttering when I watch Plex videos??
G+_Matthew Bowen
What is the setup? Network? Where are you trying to stream from? What type of video are you trying to play?
G+_Matthew Bowe
Hey, cool name. Uh... N-band belkin adapter to linksys EA6300 router on CenturyLink 20mbps. I'm trying to play 480p mp4 videos.
G+_Matthew Bowen
I was thinking the same thing, sir. 480p? Shouldn't be an issue... What are you trying to stream from? Dedicated Plex server? Rough specs?
G+_Ben Kempa
Matthew Bowe make sure they aren't too far apart and have good signal. Sorry I'm not a Matt. ;)
G+_Matthew Bowe
Haha. Will do. Thanks.
G+_Matthew Bowe
Matthew Bowen I'm sure its a signal thing. The server and the problematic chromecast are downstairs, but the router is upstairs. The chromecast on the same floor as the router is fine. I just have to find a way to get better than 70% signal downstairs. The antenna on the chromecast must be pretty weak. G+_Ben Kempa
Matthew Bowe Google probably figures you will have the chrome cast and router on the same floor, as I do with my Apple TV and router. You could also try to get a cheap wireless access point and extend your wifi range to get a stronger signal downstairs.
G+_Matthew Bowen
John Tacoz I would recommend VistaStumbler over the AFAIK no longer maintained Netstumbler. Or if you have an Android phone definitely get the free tool "WiFi Analyzer". (don't know if on iOS) Matthew Bowe the point is that if you have a bunch of networks on the same channel it causes problems.

G+_Matthew Bowen
Sorry, couldn't remember the name then. I'm a really big fan of InSSIDer. Glad to spread the word!
