G+_Matthew Bowe
You guys are amazing. One more thing I could use your help with: Two routers, one SSID. I have a chromecast upstairs by one router and another chromecast and a Plex server downstairs by the other. Oddly, even with the same WLAN security, I can only connect to the nearest chromecast at any one time and nothing upstairs can see the Plex server. Any suggestions? #chromecast #plex #multipleaccesspoints
G+_Scott Jones
I gave up and made two different SSIDs. I had the exact same problem...
G+_Matthew Bowe
That would leave me in the same situation. Nothing upstairs would see Plex.
G+_james robinson (radiati
I had the same issue with chromecast.I think it has to do with the discovery they use. The clone MAC address is usually only for the wan MAC.?
G+_Matthew Bowe
Not sure what you mean. So the secondary access point needs the same Mac as the DSL modem?
G+_james robinson (radiati
I was just saying that most routers only allow you to change the Mac address of the wan port. Not the wlan.

G+_James Tydeman
I have the same setup, and spread over 2.4GHz, and the 5GHz. I set them up with the same SSID, WPA2 settings, different channels, DHCP off on the two slave routers, which in effect basically turns them into AP's. Once they were all wired up, i have no issues. I can stream to my chromecast, and to the apple TV. So long as your set up on a flat network you should be fine.
G+_Kent Smith
Make sure you only have one "router" actually acting as a router. The second one you want to be acting as an Access Point.
