G+_Charles Cangialosi
I am at a loss here. I just got the new Nexus 7 running 4.4.4. I can not download the Amazon Video App. I have tried the various hacks. Installing the Dolphin Browser and the hacked Adobe Flash APK. It does not work. I can get it on Flash Fox but it is not a great experience. Is there a mod that will allow me to do this. I hate to switch from the Android experience which is why I got this in the first place but Amazon Prime movies is a big part of what I do. Thanks! G+_Phillip Adcock
I think your issue here is the app is not yet been designed for your os. Since you are on L and the last amazon app was designed for kit kat I would assume that is your problem.
G+_Charles Cangialosi
Thanks, I checked and I am on KTU84P. This should be the latest version of KitKat for Nexus 7 2013.
G+_Taylor Graham
you really should be able to get the app. you should definitely be able to download it, if you had any problem it would be during installation (which should work fine). when you say you cant get the app, what do you mean? G+_Charles Cangialosi
The app I want is the Amazon Video app, not available in the Play Store for obvious reasons. I can download the hacked Adobe Flash 11.1 I think but when I go to my Amazon Video Wishlist I can not play any videos. The best I can do is on Flash Fox but the experience is not to great. G+_Taylor Graham
OH i see. Good job amazon, i thought it was available on android. Read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/guide-how-to-play-flash-video-android-4-t2548001 These might be the steps youre saying you performed, but if they dont work i recommend you go through them again and make sure you did everything correctly. Also check the last few pages to see if others have any solutions. XDA is a good place for this kind of issue.
G+_Charles Cangialosi
Thanks Taylor but I did all of that already. The link to the hacked Flash Player is disabled on XDA but I did get it elsewhere and it still does not work. I appreciate the help. This makes me very disappointed in the new Nexus 7. I wonder if rooting it would help?
G+_Taylor Graham
Check the last few pages of that thread. If its a problem, im sure others are complaining about it. If not, post there. Im sure someone will solve your problem if a solution is possible. Make sure you have root (check with some root checking app). If you do, rooting again most likely wont change anything. G+_Charles Cangialosi
Thanks, I think I am going to uninstall the Adobe Flash, root it and try again. What a pain in the butt.
G+_Taylor Graham
yeah... I'm really surprised amazon doesn't have an app for android yet. That kinda boggles the mind.
G+_Charles Cangialosi
It is pretty obvious to me why Google won't go for that. While I am watching Amazon Prime, I am not watching Google's video service.
G+_Taylor Graham
Its not Google's fault. They allow other video rental services on play. Its amazons. For some reason they've decided not to put their android app in the play store. They've already developed one, they're just hoarding it on kindles. They have some stupid idea about getting android users to buy kindles or something.
G+_Brandon Ingli
Phillip Adcock 4.4.4 is KitKat, not L
G+_Brandon Ingli
Did you try installing the Amazon App Store and trying to get it from there? You will have to enable sideloading (as stated on the app store's front page) https://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/get-appstore/android/ref=mas_em_dl

G+_Brandon Ingli
Never mind about the AMZN App store. It's not even on there! Wow, Amazon. Just Wow.
G+_Will O'Meara
Yeah I have been trying to get this for over a year now on my mk802 and I have determined that it is pretty much impossible unless you port the whole kindle fire rom to your device. Maybe there would be a way for someone to get the google tv app to work or maybe amazon will release one for android now that android tv is on its way. G+_Will O'Meara
Taylor Graham There is not an amazon video pure android app only one for google tv and fire os.
G+_Russ Hall
We got our son an Android tablet (Jelly Bean) and thought he could watch the Star Trek videos he loves, but so far haven't been able to get them to work, either. It's easy on a PC.
