G+_Thomas Nelson (CaboZone
Just got done with my RPi control for my Christmas lights. Using the SainSmart USB relay board to control the outlets. Wrote some python to run the system. Found a windows program called Vixen to create the lighting sequence. and it works! G+_T Burns
I'm guessing these are indoor lights? Or do you have a plan for moisture?
G+_Thomas Nelson (CaboZone
Board is mounted in the garage and cords go out under the garage door
G+_Jason Perry
Very nice. Two question though. How many amps are those relays rated for, and What was your reasoning behind giving each side of the board its own plug? Let us know how it goes when all the lights are set up I would love to do something like this one day.
G+_Thomas Nelson (CaboZone
Each relay is 120V / 10A, so enough to power a few light strands easily. I separated each side for some electrical isolation and these were dollar store extension cords, didn't want to push them too much. I have everything up on the house now, will try to get a video posted soon
G+_James Berry
I might need some notes on how to make this work. I have a very specific arrangement to get power. Very nice.

G+_Thomas Nelson (CaboZone
I used solid core wiring so that I could route the wires how I wanted. Came out good,
