G+_Corey Fields
So, on my desk at work is a windows 7 system loaded on a 20gb ssd. It will be used as a PC for students. We use roaming profiles and they are instructed to only save files to a network share, so I probably only need 3-5 gb of free space. What can I do to shrink this load as much a possible? Already I have: Disabled superfetch Disabled prefetch Disabled hibernation Disabled page file Removed any non essential windows applets Deleted the downloaded files for windows updates. Anything else?

G+_Matthew Ross
Install Linuxtrolling> In all seriousness, consider one of the hard drive freezing utilities like Deep Freeze. Once you have the system the way you want it, find some way to keep it that way. Windows has a way to creep up on empty drive space.
G+_T. Sunclades II
It's going to be used as a multiple login system. Almost like a thin client. So I will just re image it if it gets full. I will re image them in the summer anyway. I also can't pay for any software (we have a very limited budget) and I have to make sure everything is legal (I work for a school district) If it was just for me I would fine a way to get chromeOS On it :)
G+_andrew Guthrie
Switch to HD, when the ssd gets near full it will significantly slow down and decrease the life. Not the best solution vs a larger ssd but you probably have better things to do with your time. You could also look at windows steady state it's like deep freeze but is a feature for windows. G+_T. Sunclades II
I plan on using the 500gbs as replacements for the other Laptops in the system.
