G+_Eddie Foy
On ESC: (Hex Build) These are both Motor controllers plus BEC (battery eliminators) yes? Ones I have claim 5v @ 3A. I think Padre went over this and I think I've seen it else where. But I need to use only one of the +5 lines, from a single ESC and should isolate all the others keeping the PWM/Singal and ground/ref lines. (I'm planning on powering the Flight Controller via this ESC's BEC) This correct? How you guys strapping in your batteries? I'm thinking velcro straps with rubber drawer liners to avoid slipping/shifting. Or maybe a bungee hold down. And since I'm lazy & confused on this one, a CCW (looking down on the prop) motor should have the left hand thread? I have motor with both RH and LH threads (this logic typically eludes me.) And Battery charging: Can I balance charge at too low a rate? Charging time isn't an issue, rather have longer flights, and overall life
G+_Conan Mills
Yes, you only need one esc to power the flight controller. Use and exacto knife, or something similar to pull the power line from the other three, don't cut them, and cover the connector with tape so it does not ground out on anything. I use some velcro on the battery and frame as well as a velcro strap to hold the battery. You want the threads to tighten with the rotation. As long as you don't charge the battery at a higher amp rating than the batteries discharge rate, you should be fine. Hope this helps.
