The first link is probably an ad for an Ideal product, but explains the difference. A Certifier will measure the electrical properties of a cable and tell you whether they fall into spec for that cable type. G+_Ben Reese Posted March 2, 2015 Share Posted March 2, 2015 The company I used to work for had 1 certifier for the whole company and every tech (about 5 of us) had simple continuity testers they we used day to day. Occasionally though we would get a customer that required cable certification. It was a longer process especially since a cable could be fully functional and still fail certification.
