After the damage to the brand is done

Brian Covey I guess at this point it is the latter one.

I doubt anything will really change with the free upgrade offer and it will all be over around a month from now.

MS could still decide to extend the free upgrade offer period -- but I highly doubt they would do that, at this point -- but they still could....meaning we will have to deal with it for longer.

However, Never10 is a set it once and forget it tool and from MS's perspective if people did not install Never10 or take the appropriate steps to disable Win10 upgrades -- then they are going to market Win10 to them because they are potential upgraders.

William L. DeRieux IV Having used Never 10 on a Windows 8.1 pro desktop.I can testify it works.I was shocked how small the file is and how powerful it is.

I highly doubt Microsoft will extend the free upgrade. My anger and frustration with Windows 10. Is how Microsoft permanently damaged the OS name with dirty handed tricks to force people to upgrade.

There are legit reasons people have to not upgrade.Allow people the choice to not upgrade. The whole red x fiasco really surprised me Microsoft would get that dirty handed to inflate there install numbers.

David Pick I completely agree with Microsoft using dirty trick, et al.

Microsoft did not start this trend with the upgrade to Windows 10 (it was that way since the beginning).

However, with the Win10 upgrade Microsoft become much more aggressive with it then they had ever done before -- mostly because they might feel like are dying and must make a last ditch effort to survive (like a wild animal that has been injured) .

William L. DeRieux IV I've been using Linux on and off since 2003. Why do I still use Windows? Video Games is an important factor as Windows supports the largest amount.

My job requires me to use Windows daily. And I'm a fan of Windows Weekly. But with the recent update to Chrome OS supporting Android apps. I may very well in the near future buy a Chrome book.

In other words, I try not to be a snob on what OS I use. Important factor, it has to work.
