G+_George Kozi
The biggest strategic mistake Microsoft made was to try to pretend that the desktop is a tablet. It isn't. At the moment I try to run an OS that's obviously a tablet OS on my desktop. Every time I want to close a window and I move the mouse to the upper right corner, where the controls are, the bloody charm bar pops onto the screen. &(&(%$&^$@%^^$!!!!!! There should be a Windows 8 for the desktop, one for tablets and one for phones. Those are different machines microsoft!! Geez. G+_John Mink
George Kozi it seems to me that using multiple monitors really makes it much more desktop oriented. That and typing out program names (in start) rather than trying to click around.
G+_Jason Honingford
I never liked "hot spots" -- I hope you can disable this in Windows 8? These are common desktop enhancements you could install with 3rd party software on Windows, Apple, Amiga, and XWindows. Not sure why Microsoft thinks now is the time to have this by default. G+_Mark Dodsworth
I like how Chrome OS is doing it. Start with a desktop layout and start adding touchscreen elements that still work with mouse and keyboard. I shouldn't have to swap and change the interface depending on how I want to control things. G+_George Kozi
Robert Carrasco It indeed stays translucent, but it irritates the pants off of me. Every time I want to interact with a window, it pops out, like a ... well... irritating little clown that jumps in front of you and goes: " Ta-daaaa! Did you call? Here I am. What do you want?"
