Those are not a touch enabled tablet. Now, would you please fix Windows 8 ? George

G+_Kyle TheUltimate
Dear George, You do not need a touch screen to use Windows 8 effectively. -Someone that lacks the irrational hatred for Windows 8.
G+_George Kozi
I don't have an irrational hatred of Windows 8, If I did, I wouldn't have it on my machine. But I do have a user experience generated irritation with it.

G+_George Kozi
Fred Evans It's not about the Metro and the desktop. I don't care about that. In fact, I quite like the metro style live tiles. It's about how apps that are made for a small screen look on my gigantic monitor, about the clippy like behaviour of the charm bar etc.
G+_Fred Evans
George Kozi I know how you feel. I have one PC out of 4 on win8.1, and that's they way it will remain. Let us hope Win9 will resolve that full screen app take over problem. My main workstation is a multi-monitor setup. My desk is not as tidy as yours. G+_Mark Webster
The next update to Windows 8.1 is supposed to resolve a number of the issues related to using a mouse rather than a touchscreen.
G+_Rob Marks
I just went back to MS from the iPad to see how windows 8 tablet works because a need a fully functioning tablet, not just a news paper (iPad). One that has Exchange services, VPN capability, office and outlook. However, day 2, the wireless adapter has already failed. 2014 and Microsoft still can't figure it out. (Sent from my iPhone via wireless on the flight that I am on..). Booooo Microsoft.
G+_Jason Hutchinson
Rob Marks Go back to iPad. I use exchange on all my iOS devices and have VPN capability. Granted iWork apps take some extra steps to import and export MS format files but the iPad is definitely more than a newspaper reader.

G+_Mike Zwarich
How long have you had Windows 8? I've had it for a little over a year and I can tell you it becomes very natural if you give it a chance. Windows 8 is a bridge OS - it is intended to work on both traditional and touch-enabled devices. As such it will have some quirks compared to a dedicated desktop or touch OS. In my opinion it is still a success, and still a good OS for people with an open mind willing to learn.

G+_Troy Shelby
I tried to give windows 8.1 a chance on 4 computers. 2 were mine non touch, 1 my daughters laptop touch and my wife's desktop non touch. Used on my desktop and laptop but could get more done with windows 7 due to having to move the mouse all over the place for some tasks. My daughters touch laptop is the only one with windows 8 still as it works well I'd you have touch. My wife's dell non touch desktop was new and I just downgraded it emediatly to 7 as I didn't want her to hate her gift.
G+_George Kozi
What bugs me the most, is that this full screen obsession made Windows into a Windowless Windows.
G+_Marvin “TheloniousMac”
Let's see. On my "newspaper" Rob Marks, this morning I wrote a 750 word essay concerning Progressivism vs. Classical Liberalism, I rebooted a router acting flaky in another par of the city, I looked over some server logs for a client, and found problems in his DNS setup and corrected them via the UNIX command line. I moved on from there and started weekend system maintenance for another client, running VNC over a VPN. I triggered the coffee pot. I watched Neil Gaiman read Green Eggs and Ham, which made me hungry so I ordered breakfast. I of course checked my social media stuff, wasted way to much time on reddit, While waiting for breakfast, I watched BBC News broadcast on Time Warner Cable. I have yet another client call with network problems, (why are so many people working today? Isn't there a football game or something?) so I checked my Dropbox folder with all of her information and pulled up a photo of her network closet. I edited the photo to have usernames and passwords for the different devices and sent it to her. Yes, my newspaper does email also. I made a SKYPE call to a buddy and wished him happy birthday after my "newspaper" alerted me that it was his birthday. I also sent him a $100 gift certificate to the iTunes Store. I FaceTimed a lady in Atlanta to see how she was doing after the snow. She was stranded in her car and kept in touch with friends and family via FaceTime using her "newspaper" mini with LTE cellular. Anyway, I think I'm going to play a bit of Deus Ex on my "newspaper" now, or I might get out of bed finally, get dressed, and heck read the newspaper on my "newspaper." Nah. Screw that. I'm gonna binge watch the third season of Sherlock. I'll stay in bed considering my WiFi download to this newspaper I'm typing on achieves 100mb/s. G+_Marvin “TheloniousMac”
I haven't tried Windows 8. What is it doing to make everyone crazy? Can't you just turn off Metro and use it like Windows 7? Like normal? I'm thinking of installing it on a MacBook Pro today just to wee what all the anger is about. G+_George Kozi
Touch doesn't make sense on a desktop monitor. The screen is placed out of reach. I only touch it once in a blue moon, when I clean it with a rag. The only way touch could work on the desktop is in combination with Leap motion, if you have it placed just passed your keyboard, where your hand are. G+_Chris Cook
I really don't get why there is so much crying over Windows 8. I don't like the start screen, so I never see it. Otherwise, Windows 8(.1) is faster, has great features for repairing/reinstalling the OS and generally just works great!
G+_Rob Marks
Marvin Price... Skype... Face time.. Sending a gift card... Awesome. I'm sure those things helped you do your job!! Not so much: that's what I meant by the "news paper" comment. The iPad has ZERO enterprise capability. I need exchange and domain access. I need VPN.. iPad is useless. Just my opinion. I'm not trying to argue. But be honest, it's a great leisure device, not business.
