G+_George Kozi
Originally shared by George Kozi I think Microsoft is crazy. They bought into this "let's have millions of aps in our store" nonsense. What I want them to do is this: make a phone that does the following things. ? It recognizes who I am ?it talks to me ?Keeps my calendar and warns me in time about stuff ?keeps my data secure ?answers my queries ?gives me directions when traveling ?knows where I am and where I should be ?lets me listen to music ?lets me communicate ?makes me unreachable when I want to be ?keeps track of health related stuff ?takes reasonably good photos and videos. ?has one simple consistent design across everything that's on it. All that in ONE giant app. Make that giant phone app that makes me not interested in any other app. Make that phone Microsoft, lock it down, update it every month with new functionality, and I will buy it. Not only will I buy it, but I will jump it, and hump it, and tell it I love you. Paul Thurrott
G+_Bill Whitman
Nokia Lumia series with Windows 8.1 preview is your friend. Doesn't hit the entire list, but pretty close.
G+_Mark Leeds
I told my Nexus 7 to set an alarm for 7:30 AM. It set a reminder for 7:30 AM to set the alarm.

G+_Damian Mongru
This is Apple-like, or Steve-Jobs like in many ways. As we all know, the original iPhones didn't have third-party apps, and Apple planned on making all the extra apps themselves. The knew what users wanted and the phone will only do what they allowed them to do. With the number of smartphone users, can you really create a phone to satisfy everyone's needs. 'lets me communicate' what does this even mean? Voice? Text? Messaging? Whose messaging platform - hangouts, skype, Facebook, WhatApp etc. The best way would surely be to have all the apps and users pick and choose how they and their friends want to use their device. The App model isn't perfect, I wonder how many apps are never downloaded. Microsoft needs to have the major apps, and they need to have them in a timely fashion. Apps and games may be huge for a month and then die, it's no use having these apps six months later. How do you know which app will be the next big thing? No one knows, so you need to have all the new apps. George Kozi In other news, they predict PC sales to increase next year. Also, where did your post regarding fake names go? The one attacking TWiT was bizarre.
G+_Michael Kerr
I've never been a fan of the "one app to rule them all" way of thought. That being said, it seems like Windows Phone 8.1 goes a long way towards doing that. Cortana et al.
G+_George Kozi
This app wild growth has got out of hand. The stores are filled with padding and crap. I'd rather someone make that one app that gives me everything I reasonably need, integrated and secure. I'm fed up with usernames and passwords and rights and versions and incompatibilities and updates and stuff. I always used windows on the desktop. People know how to use it. Yes it's not perfect and we like to complain about it, but we know how to find our way in it. That's valuable and Microsoft should capitalize on it. They should try to be Microsoft, not be Apple or Google.
