G+_Eddie Foy
Marking microSD cards? I have an ever growing collection of the little buggers. Whats a good way to mark them? Best idea I've come up with it using model paint on the outside edge. Single and 2 tone works. 3 tone seems to wear off quickly.
G+_Ron Nichols
I buy the plastic cases on amazon or ebay. They're usually 10 for $1. Then I put masking tape on the case and write on the tape for identification. Does the card itself need to be marked?
G+_Jason Perry
I think if you put those 2 ideas together its a pretty good system. Paint the edge of the cards for your camera one colour, your cellphone another, ect, tgen collect them by date in plastic cases. One thing though, are they prone to data loss if you dont use them? I was reading something about ssd's being prone to data loss if they are left unplugged too long.
G+_Jason Marsh
We might need a powerhouse to chime in on this, but I think the data storage cells in SSDs and SD operate on different principles. SD, and other portable flash media, tend to retain their data, whereas SSDs tend to lose it. I'd be more inclined to keep only a few larger SD cards and depend on other media types for bulk storage. Mostly because I lose small things easily, but also I have a hard time remembering what's on all of them. ;)

G+_Jeff Brand
As for marking microSD, I have a thermal label maker. Using the smallest type I can get a decent identifier, trim the excess with scissors and stick it on.
G+_Eddie Foy
Jeff Brand they don't fall off? especially inside the device??
G+_Jeff Brand
Not in my experience, using a Dymo LetraTag. It's what they're designed for, after all. :)
