G+_Ben Reese
We need a new WiFi standard that will let us use a one-device password for our IoT things then control what other devices on the network they can talk to. Remedied or not, it's a real issue in all WiFi connected devices - especially those meant to be mounted outside your home.
G+_Alan Burbol
Mac filtering. Done.
G+_Jason Marsh
Ben Reese Setup a virtual access point in DD-WRT for each IoT device, assign a different key for each, and you've got it. Sounds like a PITA, and I don't know just what the limit is for VAPs, but I've used VAPs before without any problems. MAC filtering, OTOH, is just like sticking your head in the sand. G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
I think it was last weeks twiet they mentioned a new standard for iot. The only reason I don't have a ring is because it's WiFi. Not too hard to disconnect it from the network. If there offered a hard wired version.... G+_Ben Reese
Jason Marsh? - that's not a bad idea, but I'm pretty sure each virtual requires an amount of memory. I've also had flaky issues when using virtual SSIDs, so typically only keep it to one or two. Worth trying again though.
G+_Josh Frye
Wayne Hobbins At least the article's author put that in bold letters in the article. That was a nice touch.
