G+_Uncle Joe (Uncle Joe Hi
Okay so how does this solve a problem with the iPhone? If you needed more space for your iPhone to install iOS8 I don't know what this does for you. Okay, so you can toss some pics and vids on there and free up space. You can do that on your computer. And guess what? They will still belong to you!
G+_Mike Boas
Exactly. Hard to believe the Verge just printed the press release without any critical commentary.
G+_Uncle Joe (Uncle Joe Hi
Mike Boas I'm not impressed with the Verge. I think they fairly quickly left the track.
G+_Daryl Hunt
I think it's more a slap at Apple who only give you 5gigs free on ICloud where as most off the other cloud services now give you much more for free. Apple have never been particularly good with cloud services. I am an iOS user so am not an android troll when I say these things
G+_Mike Boas
Sure, I understand why Microsoft is positioning their argument the way they are. But the reporter shouldn't have just gone along with it. I had less than 3 gigs free on my iphone, plugged it into itunes, backed it up, then upgraded to 8.0. No problem. I've never even used my 5 gigs in icloud (I prefer backing up my photos to google.) By printing the press release without question, the Verge is just passing along Microsoft's scare tactic to iphone users. Obfuscating, not informing.
