G+_Russell Williams
Hi Just watched show #42 via Plex channel on my Roku! Oddly, as some have mentioned earlier the TNT channel on the Roku performs poorly, but thus far my P4 Ubuntu Server running Plex is working well. The show was timely as I tried Handbrake about a month ago and wasn't able to rip most of my DVDs due to protection. I understand there's a plugin for Handbrake to allow you to rip copyright protected DVDs. I downloaded the plugin/add-on but I'm still unable to rip these DVD's. I guess you couldn't address that in the show, but it would have been useful. Can anyone offer any help here? Muchas....
G+_J Esposito
I use http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/. I've never tried it via handbrake by itself. I use DVD Decryptor then Handbrake.
G+_Doug Mejia
Try RipIt for the Mac and then use Handbrake to encode.

G+_Ram Rangaswamy
I use SlySoft's AnyDVD HD as it can also strip out movie trailers and other junk when you are just watching a movie.
G+_Joel Getz
I use DVDFab. While you can pay for the program to shrink and encode, you can still use it to rip dvds for free (and they update their software regularly so even new movies can be ripped). I rip the movie and throw the folder in Handbrake to encode.
G+_Charles Johnston
I use Thoggden (sp) under ubuntu, rips the VOB's off and the rest of it, including 'just the movie' to a ogg file (Need DCSS lib), then Arista to just point and click convert. Presets for Xbox/Divx home theater/ etc all set up, hand break is like getting a mechanics tool chest to fix one screw. its like yeah you 'can do it' but its more easer to hose it. Both programs I mentioned are Ubuntu only and free.
G+_Russell Williams
Thanks I finally got around to dealing with this and the VLC option didn't work reliably and was missing the audio. In the end I got Handbrake working by following the details here: http://www.webluke.net/2011/08/handbrake-windows-7-64-bit-dvd-ripping/ Thanks for the suggestions
