On my command-line only Ubuntu server, I finally got ddns and dhcp working very happily with each other. However, I used Webmin to make everything happy. Next step: same goal, no webmin.

i had the exact same experience. ddns worked great with dhcp, all through webmin. i never got around to configuring the services sans webmin. best of luck!

i recommend tackling openvpn. i enjoyed learning the product and it's incredibly useful. my current challenge: ddns for addresses leased by the openvpn dhcp server. #summerproject

Mark Wilkerson I'm down for that. I've been in IT for my entire career with no advancement instruction. I'm tired of asking the "server team" what to do. It's time for me to tell them what needs to happen, instead of asking.

I totally understand Josh Green. I think that a lot of the walk throughs are done with the best of intentions, but not usually by those that have a talent for documentation. I look forward to hearing about your progress.
