G+_Jorge Cornejo
I need your assistance! I am trying to reset to factory setting an iMak71 but the instructions are a bit fuzzy! I get as far as what is shown in the pic below. I don't see a recovery option! Any suggestions?
G+_David Peach
What instructions are you reading? I've only done this once so am probably not much of a help. But whoever stops by to help will probably want to know the steps you are reading and what you should be seeing.
G+_Jorge Cornejo
David Peach I sued the key comb ALT+R but didn't do anything, tied other several combinations but the only one that works was just ALT that brings me to the start up screen that is supposed to show me a recovery option as well as the current install disk. I only get the current install disk.
G+_David Peach
According to this article your Mac is too old to have a recovery option. It has suggestions on how to get around it. https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac/restore-mac-without-recovery-3636668/

G+_Tailsthefox Pelissier
Windows Key R or Command R based on what keyboard you use on reboot will put the MAC into revery mode. You will lost Windows 10 if installed any updates to the apps and even the apps and data since it will reformat and reinstall the version of OSX that was 1st put on that MAC. So if your mac came with Lion you will get Lion forexepull.
G+_Akira Yamanita
What in the world is an iMak71? If it's a real Mac and considering that it has a Core 2 Duo, it would have come with recovery discs. One of them would have had the OS and the other with the pre-installed software (GarageBand and such). You can create an OS disc by downloading the ISO from the App Store. I would use the latest one that's compatible instead of factory restoring all the way back to the original OS. If you do not have the software disc, you will not have the original pre-installed software after the wipe.

G+_Tailsthefox Pelissier
This kind of bull shit is why i hate seeing computer's without the OS install disk and a DVD-ROM drive. The 2 types of mead rule in 321 Back-up is the 2nd. Since the M disk line of recordable blu-ray disks fixes many of the iuses with old line of recordable disks.
