G+_Brian Barcus
Interesting...the search bar / Cortana on the quick launch menu doesn't appear to work when logged in with a local account. Cannot type anything in to it.. When logged I with a Microsoft account it works. I would imagine that's because it needs a history attached to the searches. G+_L I
Would be nice if it just initiates a web search then
G+_Dave Trautman
I believe Cortana requires a relay to MS for some of it's searching and responding. In time it might have local capabilities, but it seems to work much like Siri on the iPhone right now. All requests are run through your account in the cloud and sent back down. Siri doesn't work when the user is logged out of their Apple account.
G+_L I
I understand this if it was a voice search, but why wouldn't it let you type?
G+_Kevin Mitchell
Just did a clean Windows 10 install with only local user accounts and the search bar is working fine for me.
