As you know Skydog parent company has been bought by Comcast, and they are killing off the tech?

 

Do you have any similar products one can use to monitor a network?

I am interested to hear the answer for this one. I use IPFire but I wouldn't recommend it to a non tech person. I just watched the SkyDog episode and was just about to recommend it to someone. Now I am back to square one

Untangled is another solution but that is so so a software solution that needs to be installed on a box. I have no experience with it.

Hi thanks....I am a techie....but I am looking at an easy solution to manage at home....

 

I liked the easy management of Skydog etc.

Hi all....I also used to use Astaro. This is a bit more technical, came in a Virtual Machine format and worked OK.

 

BUT even Astaro has been bought! It seems as soon as you have a good idea...it gets bought and the tech killed by some giant not wanting you to have total control over your network.

 

Still looking for something that will make it easy to manage/monitor a local home network....easy enough that even my wife can use it!
