G+_Joseph Sacco
If I replace the hard drive in my Mac mini I am assuming I will not be unable to reboot from the recovery disk to reinstall the operating system. Is this correct. My plan was to put a clean install on my original HD and clone that to my new HD. Any thoughts
G+_James Nennemann
The built in recovery disk is stored on the partition on the old hard drive. You could get a USB to SATA adapter, so you can plug it into USB. Then you could option boot and restore from the partition on the old drive. I am assuming that the model you're talking about is a SATA drive.
G+_Peter Hanse
First do clean install on current HD then use carbon copy cloner to clone onto new disk. It will also move recovery partition. You can use USB to SATA converter to mount new disk to do clone.
