G+_Brendan Curtis
Hey Know How-ers. I've got a few VPN questions. I pay for a commercial VPN, mainly to bypass geoblocking. The account allows simultaneous use of 1 PC and 1 portable. I also have a DNS server address for a settop box and downloadable configs for a router. My main question is if I setup VPN on a router and connect that router to my Fiber modem, will every client on that router be behind the VPN and leave everything directly on the modem unaffected? Also, would this be more secure than using the changed DNS on a settop box and could I have as many devices as I wanted behind the VPN simultaneously? I'm still trying to wrap my head around networking and VPN's. I'd appreciate any advice.
G+_L I
Curious which VPN service you use. I'm looking into getting VPN too.
G+_Brendan Curtis
I'm using ExpressVPN. They weren't the cheapest but when I saw that they had well documented setup instructions for all the major platforms including routers I deemed it to be money well spent.
