G+_Donald Burr
Hi Iyaz & Shannon, Great episode! While I am not as freaked out about PRISM as the rest of the planet seems to be, I still see the need to send encrypted email every now and then (mostly when sending files to clients). The solutions you mentioned are great, however you did not mention a Mac solution. I have been using GPGTools for years now. It is a plugin that interfaces directly with the Apple Mail app. They just released a new version that adds Mountain Lion compatibility, so it works on any OS X version 10.6 on up. (they still make the older version of their software available as well, so you can run it on versions of OS X all the way back to 10.3!) It is free but they would appreciate a small donation if you find it useful, and is literally point-and-click simple to install, set up/configure, and use. https://gpgtools.org/gpgmail/index.html https://gpgtools.org/gpgmail/index.html
G+_Eric Knudson
GPGTools is great, I use it to sign emails all the time. Another good tool is iPGMail (http://ipgmail.com/) which lets you encrypt and sign email on iOS.
G+_Donald Burr
Eric Knudson Nice. I had no idea such a thing existed. Bought it and am loving it, works great.
G+_Bradley Bishop
Just as a note: You can get a regular certificate (Verisign or other) and use it in Mail on OS X as well as on the iPad and iPhone - all using the native apps to sign and encrypt email.
