G+_Donald Burr
power distribution board question time! So my quad parts came in early (yay!) unfortunately I discovered that I need a power distribution board (apparently I stupidly forgot to order one) So I ordered this one off amazon (since they can ship it to me by saturday and I am the impatient type :) anyway I figure this one is probably "good enough" for this first build of mine; besides, a power distribution board appears to be nothing more than a little circuit board with a couple of traces inside it... how could anybody screw up something as simple as that? (famous last words?) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GQOZZUY/?tag=otakunocast-20 So my question is, where do I solder the wires going to the battery, and where do I solder the wires going to the ESC's? I am assuming that the solder points around all 4 edges go to the ESCs, and the two solder points that are sort of in the middle go to the battery? here... they say a picture is worth 1k words, so I drew one up describing my question. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/169813/pdb.png http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GQOZZUY/?tag=otakunocast-
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
This PDB can support up to 8 motors/ESCs. The ESCs are soldered to the pads at the edges of the board. The battery connector is soldered to the two pads towards the inside of the board. Mind the positive and negative terminals.
G+_Donald Burr
Great, thanks for the impressively fast reply. I thought that was the case but just wanted to make sure. Merry Christmas!
