G+_Donald Burr
So a lot of quadcopter builds I've seen are using silicon wire. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the stuff anywhere locally, and I need some wire to wire up my ESCs. Is there anything wrong with using regular (non-silicon) hookup wire, assuming that I use the correct wire gauge to handle the amount of current in use, or do I really need to use the silicon stuff? G+_Jim Sauber
Ready to Fly Quads (mentioned in the pocast) has silicone wire. http://witespyquad.gostorego.com/silicone-wire-16-18-20awg-one-meter-black-one-meter-red.html
G+_www.DroneKits.US
The silicone is flexible and a bit lighter but any wire will work. If you can find MTW at local shop it will be more flexible than the standard house wiring. MTW is used in electrical control panel builds because it is flexible. G+_Taylor Graham
Silicone is also super heat resistant, so the jacket wont melt when your're soldering short lengths of wire. Silicone wire is pretty great, i'd buy it. I got some one amazon for less than $2/foot. It's available on almost every site that sells RC stuff too, especially for quads.
