G+_Donald Burr
So I managed to put a nice scratch into my LCD monitor. Not sure how or when it happened, but it's there. And unfortunately this is one of those cases where I was blissfully unaware of it for who knows how long, but now that I've seen it, it cannot be unseen. And it's bugging the heck out of me, it's pretty much right smack in the middle of the screen. It feels like a fairly deep scratch, I can run my fingernail over it and I feel a definite "bump" when the edge of my fingernail gets caught in the scratch. Is there any way of buffing this out, or am I pretty much screwed?
G+_Brent Burzycki
I hate to say it but I think you might be a bit screwed. I would think even the finest grain of anything to try to make it less noticeable will just make it more noticeable. Might want to look at these options... But I say this only as a huge potential risk for more damage. http://m.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Scratch-on-an-LCD-Screen
G+_610GARAGE
I'm with Brent Burzycki , if the scratch is deep enough to feel, it's probably too deep to repair nicely. However, this may be worth a shot. I used it on my jeep windows, and it worked great. But the windows where only scuffed. And if you are confused, I have a soft top on my jeep, so plastic windows. http://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU/
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Time to use reverse psychology on yourself. That scratch WANTS you to notice it. It WANTS to distract you. It WANTS you to feel guilty about what's happened to your screen. DON'T PLAY THE SCRATCH'S GAME! Get a RED permanent marker and draw a circle around the scratch! Make it prominent. Let that scratch know..., "Yeah... I MADE you... so I OWN you!" -- YMMV
G+_Ben Reese
I think Padre's right. The best option is to scratch your screen more so that scratch doesn't look out of place. Just add 3 more scratches and this one won't hardly be noticeable.
G+_Eddie Foy
a drop of WD-40 might help to hide it for a bit. (does wonders on paint scratches as you are selling stuff)
