G+_Warren Blesofsky
Jeremy - Foxfi was disabled initially when 4.2.2 rolled out and then they did a fix and got it working again. No such luck for 4.4. Yet....
G+_Warren Blesofsky
Mike - I would like to root but it seems beyond my abilities. I read thru a bunch of XDA threads. I downloaded but still I would need a step by step . I dont know how to use ADB, slapmymoto. My skill level is more like ipconfig release renew.... G+_Warren Blesofsky
JP - it probably is a Verizon thing. Update - I flashed my phone (i think) by doing a factory reset. Under status it says downloading update but I have made it through the day and it hasnt tried to download the update. I am actually using foxfi right now on with my new ASUS T100 which has amazing battery life BTW.
G+_Mike Flanagan
This is why I refuse to buy moto products. No offense.

G+_Mike Flanagan
I have a nexus 5. Android is a great platform for tinkerer's and developers because of its openness. This phone is the first that I have not used custom Roms on. I had a galaxy s3 before this one. And before that a Motorola photon that I bought with the promise of an upgrade to 4.0 but ultimately the phone was left on gingerbread (2.3.5.) With a locked boot loader whick left a bad taste I'm my mouth if one of your selling points is a upgrade and it never comes your gonna loose customers. G+_Warren Blesofsky
makes sense. i am not a dev or tinkerer but i do like functionality. 10 years ago I opened a word doc on a moto flip phone and then that function disappeared for about 5 years until "smartphones" came out. (I dont think i got that back until palm TREO. I think I would have a nexus 5 if i wasnt on big red!

G+_Warren Blesofsky
the X looks pretty good. I would be willing to give up a little battery life in exchange for getting my mini-HDMI and card slot back
G+_Warren Blesofsky
I don't have time or skill to root. Maybe I can trade for a rooted maxx or X if it does have HDMI and SD slot. I miss webtop mode.
