G+_Reggie Henneman
On episode 356 the were discussing 2 factor authentication, and while biometrics sounds great it seems like a bad idea. No lock can be unpickable, and using fingers as a password (which is assentally what your doing) once you have a method and and a way to copy a fingerprint that finger is useless and you need to move on to the next thing. G+_Golden Retriever
Yes and as a result of the OPM hack all of my biometric data has been compromised

G+_Reggie Henneman
Tod Sage otherwise you move on to the rest of your fingers then toes then ears then eyes than at last DNA
G+_Ben Reese
Except for how it was recommended in the use with the USB key. If the fingerprint is guarding the use of the USB device, it's better than not having it. I agree that a strong password is better than biometrics, but most would rather use no password than having to put it in all the time. The fingerprint is the happy medium where it's "secure enough" for most and doesn't sacrifice much convenience.
G+_Golden Retriever
Reggie Henneman? naw only finger prints, my clearance is not high enough for more like retna or blood vessels, dna just takes to long for access usage, yes it's secure but as far as I know it takes at least 3 days even with a rush job. G+_Golden Retriever
Security questions should be lies that you can remember because the truth can be looked up. What is safe is what is existing only in your mind.

G+_Ben Reese
Tod Sage last several accounts I've setup I've used random security question answers. Probably one of the best security strategies.
G+_Golden Retriever
Ben Reese if you can remember your answers yes, but I could never remember random changing answers on different sites I just use one lie and use that same lie all the time and on every site, only if my security questions get compromised would I go to a new lie because it's too hard to remember. G+_Ben Reese
Tod Sage maybe I'm trusting my password managers too much then, because they hold my security answers too.
