G+_Kapel Kerr
Padre, I need you point-of-view on something. I currently live in a condo where everyone has Wi-Fi and the signal from each router extends ten floors total from the respective units. The interference, on top of other things, has annoyed me to the point of moving. To prevent this RF interference from ever affecting me again I would like to know what your views are on a product called “yShield” from Europe. The objective is to use the paint on the interior side of the perimeter walls and any internal walls near other sources of interference. Ground the conductive paint using the conductive tape and cable accessories and then paint over it with standard household paint. For external wireless access a standard outdoor AP is hard lined through the grounded wall to either the main router or wireless router acting as a bridge. The only downside that I see is the residence becoming a cell phone dead zone. VOIP app? There is also a thin clear film for windows. Again, the goal is to block everyone else to make life easier. I don’t know this company but they have everything. I don’t remember the original websites I was on when I found this product. http://www.slt.co/ Paint producers’ site. https://www.yshield.com http://www.slt.co
G+_Paul Griffith (KE5WMA)
Conductive paint should work. Often used on the inside of plastic cases of electronic equipment. If you are on 2.4 GHz, you might try moving to a 5GHz router. Depending on the devices you have, it may be a cheaper solution than conductive paint.
