G+_Dan Hockey
What are the symptoms of a failing SSD? I have a Dell netbook with an Intel SSD that's about 2yrs old now. I installed 16.04lts and it was fast at first but now its really slow, which was the same behavior as with 14.04.
G+_Travis Hershberger
Sounds like trim might not be running like it should. In your /etc/fstab, is "discard" included in the options to mount the root partition? If not, you may need to manually run 'fstrim -v /' every once in a while (or put it in a cron job!) G+_Dan Hockey
Only 14.7% used. So that shouldn't be the cause. /: 159.6 GiB (171402416128 bytes) trimmed. I assume all is well then? What doesn't make sense is I have an old tosihba with the same setup(16.04) but with a sandisk sdd and haven't any problems
