Is it considered better to have the Cage on a 250 Quad above or below the frame?

I see them above a lot but that eliminates access to the flight Controller. Is having the center of balance below the props the right idea? Or does it interfere with the air flow too much?

I would say only use the cage if you need it. If you can fit the gear you have/need on the frame without the long frame upgrade go for it. Less is more when flying! But if you need top or bottom is up to you depends on what you plan to do and what you like. But i prefer bottom.

That's actually what I did - I mounted it on the "roll cage" but you get a lot of propeller in your pictures that way.

Since I have to rebuild anyway, I experimented with alternate configs, but it was surprising how far back the battery had to go to offset moving the camera forward. At this point it seems like the only choices are "center of gravity" or "buy the extended frame".

We'll see. Eventually I'll step up to a Dead Cat/Alien X, I'm sure.
