G+_Dan Salter
After building the 250 I've got the bug and am considering building and flying planes. I started with helicopters so I'm keen to get some fixed wing experience now. My question is about flight simulators, specifically linking them the existing kit I've got (the 250 Quad Flysky tx). Can this be done? If so what's a good sim to do it with? I'm thinking no matter how many times I've crashed my quad a plane is going to be far more expensive to fix and far more dangerous to fly so I want some sim experience first. G+_rob bennett
Flitetest foam planes are the best way. If you've built a 250, a foam plane is cake. You can start simple than work your way up with the same electronics. My favorite plane is a funbat with a huge motor. 2bucks in foam
G+_Steve C
To use a flight simulator you will need an RC transmitter like the one you will be using with the plane that has a USB output to plug into a PC. One of those will work with most flight simulator programs for Windows. Futaba actually makes one called the Great Planes Real Flight Simulator that's just for flight simulators and doesn't even have a transmitter inside it that's just for game playing. You could also use a joystick with 2 sticks on it like the Thrustmaster. You can often find these at Goodwill if there is a store near where lots of modelers fly. G+_Quadflyingmedic
Realflight simulator comes with a transmitter or with some plugs to hook your transmitter up to it. I would check out their web site
G+_Quadflyingmedic
Also look at the sage technology from eflight. Has a panic button to level the plane. They have a mini plane $99 bnf $129 with tx. I have an apprentice with safe and it is almost crash proof
G+_Larry Havenstein
I can recommend Realflight as that is what I have used to practice both rc airplanes and rc helicopters. The current version will let you practice quadcopter flight also. http://www.realflight.com/aircraft-flyingsites/aircraftlist.html
