G+_Rud Dog
Just decided to upgrade MacBook Pro retina late 2013 when to my first surprise there is a lot of confusion as to what driver to used to remove the screws from the access cover. Second surprise was it does not have a conventional SSD or HD it has what is referred to as a blade. What I am wondering is this the same format Padre was referring to back when he had in depth discussion on Kingston epci cards but also showed what appears to be a blade mounted on these cards? G+_Tyler Green
I think Leo did this upgrade on air at one point? I'm pretty sure there is a video somewhere...

G+_Rud Dog
Wow surprised to see Iyaz on this one. Now before I do all this wondering how to connect my cloning hardware via USB only because this model doesn't have USB ports. Is there a cable that goes from any of the connections on the laptop to my cloning hardware?

G+_Black Merc
Is there a FireWire port or thunderbolt port... for external drives?
G+_Rud Dog
Guess that was partly my question now to start the google process.
G+_Rud Dog
So far the solution looks a bit pricey. Talking Thunderbolt to USB3/eSata adapter at 80.00 dollars. There must be a simple so cable which goes from USB to thunderbolt connection.
G+_Gregg Ordon
Get the iFixIT kit. It is what I have in my repair shop.
G+_Rud Dog
Which kit would include the required driver for the Macbook Pro Retina late 2013?
G+_Rud Dog
Well just couldn't nail down how pick the correct driver to remove the back cover so did a clone from the onboard drive to a SSD external drive. Cost was a bit high but now I have the piece of mind know that this project is done.
