Why are the fluorescent replacement LED light fixtures so expensive a 4 footer is $99.00 and higher. Aren't the led strip reels much cheaper, what am I missing here.

I think you need to shop around. I bought my ones, by Energetic, for under half that. And they have been great.

Maybe better quality than cheap LEDs too? But mostly I'd agree with Eddie Foy?.

Worked at a place that all future fixtures had to be LED.  And they were putting in High-Bay LEDs on the factory floor. 2 years ago they were about $250 USD.

And LED strips aren't putting out the volume of light.

(and  not as easy to install as a 4ft fixture)
