G+_Rud Dog
I have given up more times then I care to admit. That would be editing and making my own videos. So far the controls seem overly complicated. A simple program allowing me to drop the video into the viewer and just as easily cut and paste segments. Adding voice to the same and music if warranted. OBTW prefer it not be uploaded and done online.
G+_Jason Eckelstafer
I'm not sure if you were venting or asking for recommendations but Camtasia is a very simple yet powerful tool. You can easily do what you listed. It's major downside is the price. I have found "free" versions of it if you're into that sort of thing. https://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.html
G+_Eddie Foy
Is there a plugin for VLC to do simple editing?
G+_Rud Dog
Jason Eckelstafer sorry woke up a bit grumpy and that appears to have shown through my request. Thank you for the suggestion will take a look-see.
G+_Rud Dog
Eddie Foy This would be great as I am a user of VLC. If someone knows this to be true would appreciate a point in the right direction.
G+_Rud Dog
Jason Eckelstafer Yeah 300.00 dollars is a bit out of my budget.
G+_610GARAGE
PowerDirector is pretty simple. It's not great. It will get bogged down pretty easily, but it is cheap and simple. Windows movie editor I think is also pretty simple if you have windows. http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-ultra/features_en_US.html?&r=
G+_Damien Hull
As Jason mentioned above, Camtasia is a good choice. I use it for my videos. Easy to use with lots of options. Yes it costs money, but its worth every dollar.
G+_Jason Eckelstafer
Rud Dog - I haven't warez'd in a long time but it is available there too. You could use the trial if this is a one time use.
G+_Rud Dog
For me using the Windows media editor seems to have all that I need. Thanks all.
G+_Ben Reese
The whole Adobe CS2 is available for free now too directly from Adobe. It seems a bit challenging from the little bit I've played with it so far - starting with getting the video into a format that could be imported. I downloaded the video from YouTube (one of my own) then had to use FFMPEG to concert the video to AVI to be imported.
G+_Rud Dog
Ben Reese Yeah sounds like something I came across long ago just couldn't spend the time learning all the ins and outs of the software. To many other things need attention and videos is just for quick fun. Just the same thanks for the suggestion.
G+_Rud Dog
I must be losing my mind, there was a suggested video editor called Windows movie editor and it was just what I was looking for but now If I type in Windows movie editor nothing comes back from the search????? G+_Ben Reese
Windows Movie Maker. I think they pulled it from Win 10. What are you running?
G+_Ben Reese
I think it was part of Windows Live Essentials.

G+_Rud Dog
Odd when I do a search for Windows Movie editor or Windows Move Maker nothing is found but when I go to download and install windows movie maker it states it is already installed. Running 8.1. I hate when this happens.
G+_Rud Dog
This has me confused as heck. Tried fixing the program then uninstall and reinstall still can't find it?
G+_610GARAGE
Rud Dog look in the programs folder. It should be their. Then just right click the executable and creat a desk to shortcut.
G+_Rud Dog
Funny, looked through both programs folders and could not find it. When the simple things in life get complicated it is time for a break.
G+_Rud Dog
Looks like this is a common problem but will have to wait to follow all the threads till I find, if there is one, a solution.
G+_Rud Dog
Would not have believed it but his path is where it is located. Haven't tested functionality yet but will. The path to Photo Gallery and MovieMaker.exe is the following: Computer>C://>Program Files (x86)>Windows Live>Photo Gallery
G+_Rud Dog
Well have had time to checkout the Movie maker as opposed to Move Editor and they have completely hosed the product. I know its free but it is nothing like what I used when I first downloaded Movie Editor. Now the search begins again.
