G+_Mark Crowle-Groves
So I want to weigh in on one of the things that I don't like about the iPad Air. I recently got to spend some quality time with one and use it as my daily driver for about a month and while I loved almost everything about it, the screen actually became my biggest bugbear. I can work from an iPad and frequently do. I can also type pretty well using the on screen keybaord and have written the vast majority of my emails from there. On older iPads, the glass top and display unit have been a single seamless unit. For typing this makes it feel like you're hitting a solid item, and gives a really nice tactile response. It's also pretty quiet! However on the new iPad air, the glass and display unit are separated which changes the tactile feedback dramatically. There's a feeling of flex in the display that wasn't there before and there's also a hollow 'knock' sound that makes it very unappealing to type on. It feels cheaper even though it's not and after spending nearly a month using one, I just don't like the way it feels despite loving everything else about the product. G+_paul fracek
I have the same conclusion. The home button is even worse. It feels like it's almost empty inside. This is so minor, yet it struck me from the very first moment.
