I have the LG 34um95-p and it sports a built in KVM switch also functioning as power switch. Well it is a bit shaky when it comes to just powering it on. In fact it feels like it is on its last leg so I turn it on but don't use the switch to turn it off allowing it to shutdown on its own.

Been searching but apparently am not using the right combo of words cause can't find a fix or part replacement. Anyone have any ideas?

Wow did not see this coming.

Went to LG website and asked about the problem I was having was told it was no longer under warranty. I knew that but they had to look up my account even though told him it was a little over year and half since I purchased the 34UM95-P monitor.

Was informed they would not send me any parts as they only send to their repair or parts facilities.

But I could have it repaired by a local repair shop all I have to do was give him my address and no not just my Zip code by my address. I hesitated and then gave him the information (hostage at this point).

" OK can have someone look at it for 300.00 dollars" and that was just an estimate.

Pressed on and he told me I could contact parts house and order it from there. He would not or could not give me a part number so went to recommended parts web site.

Once there could only look up the part if I had the part number and MFG the latter I had part number no, duh.

Sent an email telling them my problem with the website and after much back a forth they recommended I call and order the part. Could I have the part number I asked? Nope don't give out part numbers.

OK called the number for parts desk and the guy asked my what part I was looking for and I passed on the information given me; 34UM95-P, board-joystick control.

He responded with "hmmm". He said he would try and locate the part for me and started his search after a few "that's not it" and "that's odd" he said "this might be it".

Told him I would open up the monitor and see if I could fix it without the switch. He laughed and said good luck. End of call.

Word of warning, this monitor was not using the joystick switch for anything but on/off switch and it failed rather quickly in my opinion. And if finding a replacement is any indication getting service well it is just better to buy one with a simple on/off switch.

I've spent a couple years in Korea and everywhere you go there are small repair shops that seem to have no problem getting anything and everything to fix virtually any electronic device in existence. My guess is we have a few KITAs in or from Korea that could help you find a source for the part(s) you need.

However... If this joystick switch is only being used to turn the device on, there's precious little preventing you from replacing it with a momentary switch.

Jason Marsh It is multifunctional and once set pretty much stays that way other than on/off. But since I paid good money for my monitor when it first came out would like to enjoy the option of adding more monitors which this is just one of the other functions of the joystick/on/off switch.
