G+_Christopher Angst
Just watched the latest TNT show and at least Mike is starting to smile more, however, it is still a bit dry. I am not bashing Mike, I am sure over time things will loosen up, I just don't know if it will happen fast enough to save the show. For now I am taking a break from it will check back in later. Changes like this take time to work out, when you go from a well oiled machine to one that needs some WD40 to break loose you have give it some time.? G+_Tony McHugh
I've taken a break too. It's too dry for me, I listened to the last few over the weekend. I'll check back in a month or so to see if it's changed. I still have my fix of AAA, Twit and Twig :-)
G+_Dante Crescenzi
Man I tell ya. I've been thinking the same thing. I simply can't understand the change. I think Leo may have thought that Mike may have been the Tom Brokaw of the technology evening news. Couple that with the blatant dislike of the new coin product and someone may be getting a bit long in the technological tooth.
G+_Casey Russell
Same here. Mike is just to stiff and the show just isn't as interesting without to commentary. I can read the news via Feedly I don't need it to be read to me.
G+_Omar Mustafa
I now just watch Tom's show. It's not a technically polished, but he's just great.

G+_Dante Crescenzi
So what's the story? Did Tom get fired or what?
G+_Bill Christian
While agree Mike lacks showmanship, I find his editorial much more in depth and interesting. I remain excited he is on the full time staff if not wrongly positioned.
G+_Dante Crescenzi
You guys are crazy. It's looks like Mike just got off a 12 month vacation. Oh wait...
G+_Joe Phelps
Dante Crescenzi Are you seriously this far out of touch? Try Google. There's no reason to rehash all of this here some six weeks after the fact.
G+_Per Christian Møller
Besides No Agenda and All About Android I always listen to TNT on my daily commute. But Mike just make me fall asleep and that's a bad sign. I have been listening to Tom Merritt new show from the first day and it's a great. A bit rough around the edges, but far better then TNT. ? G+_Joe Phelps
From Wikipedia: At the 2013 New Media Expo, Leo quoted revenue history for TWiT. 2005 (donations), 100K$; 2006 (ads), 300K$; 2007, 750K$; 2008, 1M$; 2009, 3M$; 2010, 4.5M$; 2011, 5M$; 2012, 5.75M$; 2013 (projected), 7M$. G+_Rick D
I agree; nothing against Mike, I'm sure he'll figure out how to make the show "his" and emerge from the shadow left, but the show seems to be to NPRish for my liking --and the loss of Iyaz just kills it for me... G+_Dante Crescenzi
Joe Phelps my apologies for not keeping in touch. I am sincerely sorry if this causes you online pain. I'm simply trying to figure out why Leo is doing what he's doing. My question is who takes this over after Leo retires?

G+_Ralph Pacheco
It's funny, I saw the exact same thing happen on another podcast, there is a show called The Force Cast, the two host left to start their own show called Rebel Force Network, and like Tom Merritt, the personality of the show followed. The Force Cast continued with two different host, both very similar too Mike's style, but I kept listening to both, and I think there is enough room for both Tom Merritt & Mike Elgan the two of them are very good at what they do, and I am looking forward to see the transition of both shows. G+_Scott Kingery
Mike it's OK. Until he has to do an ad read. I wince every time. He'll get better.
G+_Nathan K
They need to dump the teleprompter. Leo has even said that he is against teleprompters. Also, someone other then Mike should read the ads. He doesn't have the show man pizazz. He should opt out and get a co-host to read the ads. Blame it on him needing to stay impartial. G+_Kirk Marschel
I enjoy having Mike on the network, and I think we just need to give him time. I agree, he'd be better off without the teleprompter.
G+_Steve Chambers
Tom did a DTNS last week I think with Iyaz. It only lasted 40mins but it was like he nearly got the band back together. The video versions of DTNS stream on Youtube
