G+_Rud Dog
Tesla Radar Tried to find the posting where we discussed the failure of the Tesla's sensors to see the semi trailer accident but failed. Here is the first article I found explaining possible failure and remedy. http://newatlas.com/tesla-autopilot-radar/45362/?utm_source=Gizmag+Subscribers&utm_campaign=e0d605dbbf-UA-2235360-4&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_65b67362bd-e0d605dbbf-92096453 http://newatlas.com/tesla-autopilot-radar/45362/?utm_source=Gizmag+Subscribers&utm_campaign=e0d605dbbf-UA-2235360-4&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_65b67362bd-e0d605dbbf-92096453
G+_David Wiggins
Tesla was using modules from a company called Mobileye as part of the detector setup. After the (possibly in part due to) crash, the companies parted ways. I first heard it reported that it was because Tesla wanted full control start-finish. Now I'm seeing articles that Mobileye is complaining that Tesla is"pushing the limits of safety". While an enhanced cruise control like autopilot has risks, it seems to me like Mobileye is trying to distance themselves from the incident and possibly throw dirt at the same time.
