G+_Marc Kline Posted February 6, 2013 Share Posted February 6, 2013 I agree with much of the response to this article that I've seen - that while it's technically correct to say that hashtags are not Twitter specific, the collective mainstream mindshare does associate hashtags with Twitter. Of course, they are also popular on Instagram and are sometimes used rather ineffectively on Facebook and Google+, but I don't believe many people watching those ads thoughts of anything other than Twitter when they saw them - and that's what really counts.
