G+_George Kozi
This is a picture of the password generator from LastPass. Among all the options, there is one that says "Make Pronounceable". If you don't have this checked, LastPass will come up with a password that looks like something a wood chipper spat out. If you check it, it will throw up a weird, yet pronounceable word. The Question is: Is the pronounceable one less secure than the impossible to pronounce one? Any ideas? Both come from LastPass.
G+_Stephen Dainty
I still use 1Password, which has similar options, and a scale to indicate security, and indeed if you select pronounceable it drops that slider a little, however it is easy to compensate by increasing password length (approx 12 to 16). You can also select how to chop up the sounds, so you can select punctuation or numbers to split up each "pronounceable" syllable.
G+_Richard Maddux
The purpose of LastPass is to have it remember the password for you. Pronounceable is not helping me much. I do like the avoid ambiguous characters, for the occasional time you have to enter the password that is not in a web browser. Hello iTunes. G+_Stephen Dainty
Larry Bones Productions there are still the odd ones, like I think encrypted disc images, where pasting into the password field is disabled, so you have to transcribe the password by hand.
