G+_Neil Sedlak
What's the deal with some technology news, and even knowledgeable IT folks, claiming that iOS and OS X are "not vulnerable to Heartbleed" without any limitations or conditions on that statement? This is so incredibly misleading to the average end user. Sure, yay, both OS's have an SSL library that isn't vulnerable, but that has no impact on the main issue, which is that the servers someone connects to are vulnerable. By the same yardstick these individuals are using, Windows is also "not vulnerable to Heartbleed" by virtue of not having an SSL library at all. Both of these statements mislead an average user into thinking there is nothing they need to do.
