G+_Rud Dog
I am a PC user running Windows 8.1, the point to be made here is all the Laptop PC's I have owned have never and I mean never had a power brick fail. My wife and son have always been Apple laptop users. What is funny or maybe not, have purchased replacement power brick supplies for each Apple laptop they have owned. I count four laptops the later ones are the Macbook Pro. Each one has had at least one failed and replaced power brick. What gives? Now I just ordered one from Apple it is the : 85W MagSafe power adapter with MagSafe 2 style connector
G+_Daniel Stagner
I am a mac user and have over the years replaced two power bricks. But not due to the brick it self failing. The Magsafe end would become corroded. I am not sure why but I think was due to my son ~1 year old at the time getting it wet. At that age when he learned to walk he would go around the house and dump his milk on stuff. I still have the brick and have sense cut off the magsafe parts and put a barrel connector on it and used it to power stuff. I wanted to post a photo but I can't find it.
