G+_Mark Harry
Listening to security now 521 and Steve mentions his attempts at using a vm as a way to isolate his Web browser. He says that one of the big limitations is that his downloads would be downloaded to the vm instead of his desktop. Wouldn't a good solution to this be mounting a network drive in the vm? Share a directory from the physical host, mount the share locally on the vm and set that path to be the default location for downloads. This way anything downloaded on the vm would automatically be available on the physical host. Thoughts?
G+_Brian Gilbert (Ned Jaco
I imagine that would solve that problem, but a larger problem is dealing with links in the host OS (say from a help program or some other application that's linking to a web browser) not opening the VM's browser. G+_Tom Wisniewski
Brian Gilbert true. He did mention that the link problem was the biggest issue
G+_L I
Won't a mounted drive be some sort of security risk as well?
