Deciding what language to learn can be a difficult (and very personal) decision.

 

Looking for the "most popular", I found the following guide to be a reasonable "pre-read" before starting your own journey:

Without trying to influence, I did concur with many an opinion I read, that "C" was a best all around bet to dig into, since it is the "root" of many languages, and makes for a great springboard to languages such as C#. If I did pick "C", I would not hang around long, and would quickly jump to somthing object orientated (such as C++ or C#).

 

Also, I would like to add that choice of C# that is currently used in Coding 101 show is a perfectly fine choice, being very close to straight "C", and having very good string handling capabilities that are sorely lacking in "C".
