After posting on MeWe in what we here are used to calling a community.

Noticed after I pressed the post button the following;

Now I hope this is not some sort of screening well after I say that I am reminded of the crap we were seeing on the old communities of G+ Just thought I would mention it here. Don't think we have that on our G+ unless it is an option not used here?

 

To clarify this was not on the newly formed KH group but on a totally different group.

There is a “hold for review” option but it’s generally only used to combat a flood of spam from existing members that were previously dormant. It’s also transparent to members so you don’t actually know when that’s happening.

 

I’ve seen those notifications on reputation based forums. The first few posts by new members are all held for moderator review. As your reputation improves, moderation becomes less likely.

Funny that such a strange version of moderation exists on a site that has such a libertarian bent. :)
